Is sexting dangerous?

In case you are one of those who still doesn’t know what sexting is, you must know that sexting is a trend that has been active for years and that has already been a nightmare for many people, including celebrities. Sexting is done by sending messages and videos with sexual content of oneself, such as a naked photo, wearing underwear or just a naked part of the body.

Practicing sexting can be really positive for those couples that need to revive the passion or those who want to get a spicy touch to their relationship in a fast, simple and inexpensive way. However, it can also be really dangerous. If you don’t believe us, you can ask celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence or Kate Upton, who were hacked by malicious professionals. Intimate photos of these and other famous people went public and became viral in a very short time, because that’s one of the dangers of the impressive speed information circulates nowadays.

Dangers of sexting:

  • Your images can be used against you: if you practice sexting with your partner or special friend, those photos of you happen to be in the power of the other person forever. At first, we all think that they won’t create problems, but you can never know how that relationship will evolve and if someday that person will decide to destroy your life by publishing your intimate photos.
  • Images travel very fast on the Internet. If someone decides to send somebody else a photo that you have made previously practicing sexting, in a few minutes thousands of people may be watching it and that viral effect will be absolutely unstoppable.
  • Your private documents can also be hacked. Not only the people who receive your photos have the ability to spread them, but also the hackers who have the knowledge to extract them from your private files over the Internet. You may trust the person you send it to, but a third person can steal it from you or your partner.
  • In any case, it is clear that not everything is white or black and that, despite the dangers, sexting is, as we said, a very sexy game to practice with a trusted person. An intermediate option to do it in a more secure way may be sending pictures where our face doesn’t appear, so there’s no way anyone can identify us.
